Description:
In 1997, ten beautifully restored shop houses located in the centre of Chinatown were converted into this seventy-four room boutique hotel. Unique touches include a sleigh bed and an antique gilt-framed mirror, as well as plush purple carpets, rich floral fabrics reminiscent of Baroque painting, red curtains with tassels and rich jewel-toned walls. The 3-storey, air-conditioned building houses a lobby, hotel safe and lift access. Currency exchange facilities and Internet access are also available. The 24-hour hotel reception is open daily and offers a 24-hour check-out service.
The hotel provides its guests with comprehensive and no fuss in-room facilities. Room amenities provided include complimentary tea and coffee making facilities, mineral water and complimentary broadband Internet access. The en suite rooms consist of a shower, double bed, hairdryer, direct dial telephone, satellite/cable TV and individually regulated air conditioning. Over the past few years, the guestrooms have lost a little of their shine and are now in need of some refurbishment. Please note that the Standard room does not have a window. All rooms come with electronic door locks and safety deposit boxes.
The hotel's restaurant, Aunty Tong's, serves Shanghai and modern cuisine. A buffet breakfast and à la carte lunch and dinner are available at the restaurant.
