Description: Although the high-ceiling rooms are quite small for such a landmark property, they are very well decorated in an easy classic style in pastel and welcoming colours. The restaurant is located on the ground floor adjacent to the lobby. It is a large, airy room with views over the square in front of the hotel. Once again, the classical style and sumptuous surroundings are to the fore and blend perfectly with the grandeur of this hotel. The Sheraton Sofia Hotel Balkan is recognised as the city's grand hotel and one of its architectural landmarks. The elegant lobby is dripping in crystal chandeliers with columns dominating the marble floored reception area, which runs along the street facing seating area. This area exudes classical charm and luxury with which this 'Grande Dame' of Sofia has become associated. Salimos a las cinco y media de la mañana y nos dieron una bolsa de desayuno digna de una pensión de mala muerte en su contenido ya que en la bolsa ponía Sheraton. Una manzana, un yogurt, un zumo y un plátano sin cucharilla. Tenían preparado un desayuno para unos tripulantes de aviación y no nos ofrecieron un café, mejor dicho, cuando lo vimos, no nos dejaron tomarle. Lamentable para un hotel de cinco estrellas y además de la cadena Sheraton. La situación inmejorable y el resto de los días el desayuno agradable y bien servido. Muy bien situado y de muy buena relación calidad-precio. Salones, pasillos y habitaciones amplias y bien decorados. Negativo la excesiva dureza del colchón y la poca iluminación en las habitaciones. [read more]

Hotel céntrico, ideal para hacer turismo, habitaciones amplias y limpias, el baño tenia poca presión en la ducha, nadie hablaba español, y como critica hay convenciones constantemente, lo que hace que en alguna ocasión no te dejen acercar a la puerta del hotel con taxis por seguridad, al llegar nos dejaron en el borde de la plaza que hay delante del hotel con control de seguridad para entrar a unos 60m de la entrada del hotel, es de adoquina roto y gastado y por tanto dificil andar con maletas que tuvimos que llevar nosotras hasta el hotel.
