The hotel has been built in the shape of a buffalo and is a modern white building. The lobby is very large and elegant and usually very busy as it is a popular meeting place for the local people. It has a large seating area with brown leather seats on the one side and an Italian pizza/pasta restaurant on the other side of the lobby with seating in front of it, like a pavement cafe. In the centre of the lobby there are television screens with international channels. This is one of the most famous hotels in Hamburg - an institution - and in a superb and prime location.
