Location: Hotel Westend - Via Speckbacherstr. 9 - Merano 39012 - Bolzano - Italy [see map]
Description: the Hotel was built in 1890 as a private Villa by the then-famous local architect Pietro Delugan. It would serve as a perfect example of his art and skill: it had one of the most beautiful facades Merano could boast at that time. The building is now justly recognised as a true Art Nouveau jem and has been listed since 1984. The Westend Hotel disposes of large and spacious rooms, most with balconies. Non è la prima volta che visitando Merano scendo in questo albergo. Le camere sono spaziose, i bagni piccoli ma moderni. Buona la colazione a buffet. Lenzuola e biancheria pulite. La zona è silenziosa, adatta a chi cerca riposo e relax, senza rinunciare alla vicinanza al centro e alla stazione. Si tratta di un tre stelle, senza ulteriori pretese. Il parquet nelle camere scricchiola. A volte anche i letti. L'atmosfera un po' retrò non dispiace. Se cercate invece arredamenti moderni, luci, piscine e via dicendo, accomodatevi altrove.
