The bedrooms are large in size and quite minimalist although unique in style with drop down silver lighting. They are in good condition, as are the bathrooms. Rooms are decorated with warm colours and wooden floors. The restaurant has recently been renovated in the style of a French brasserie and now features attractive wooden floorboards. It serves international cuisine and overlooks the forecourt of the hotel. In the summer, there is a terrace where one can have a drink outside. The hotel has a unique exterior due to the fact that it is an historic building. It was originally built in the 1890s for use as a Roman Catholic orphanage. It is traditional in style and is reached by a small forecourt. The lobby is large and bare with its main feature being the recently restored impressive iron staircase. This is a perfect base for those travelling on a budget. It is slightly different to most hotels in Amsterdam as it has some nice grounds and extra facilities and yet is just minutes from the city centre.
