The entire hotel has undergone a major refurbishment and the new bedrooms are far more contemporary than before with a mainly purple colour scheme, flat screen tv with bose sound system, a small writing desk and large walk-in rain showers in the bathroom. They are very luxurious and no expense has been spared which means that they offer some of the best accommodation in town. The renowned restaurant is located on the ground floor and offers a buffet breakfast and a French influenced lunch and dinner menu. It is decorated in an art deco style and overlooks the canal. There is also a lovely garden where meals may be taken, weather permitting. The restaurant will benefit from a major renovation in 2009. The hotel has retained its historical features and has one of the most impressive entrances in Amsterdam. The lobby is of medium size and was renovated in 2008/9. The reception desk is more contemporary than before with a feature butterfly light and marble effect pillars on either side. When the renovation is over, there will also be a lounge bar incorporated into the lobby With its high quality of service and once the renovations are over, this will definitely be one of the best hotels in Amsterdam, offering the service and accommodation that one would expect from a true deluxe property.
