• Palacio Episcopal (Bishop's Palace)
  The BishopI ordered its construction in the 16^th century, except for the façade, built in the 15^th century and the older of this plaza. Now it is the residence of the Bishop of the Canary Diocese.

• Casa Regental (Regency House)
  Its ground plan is one of the few representations of 17^th Century Renaissance. It presents a Renaissance front door in the lower side and a neoclassical style in the upper side, at the same time that possesses one of the most representative Colonial style balconies that remain in the old city. Nowadays, it is the headquarters of the Court of Justice of the Canary Islands.

• Ayuntamiento de Las Palmas (The Town Hall)
  It was built in the 19^th century by the architect Juan Daura over the remains of the old town hall, which was built in the 16^th century. There are some cast iron sculptures made by Bouteiller, representing Agriculture, Commerce, Art and Navigation.

* RELIGIOUS TEMPLES:

• Catedral de Santa Ana (St. Ana Cathedral)
  It is considered to be the most important monument of the Canary architecture. The Catholic Monarchs ordered its construction in 1497 but, due to the lack of funds, works were postponed till 1570. That is why we can find in this building such different styles as the late Gothic of the exterior part and the neoclassical interiors. In the southern ale of the Cathedral we can find the Museo Diocesano de Arte Sacro (Sacred Art Diocesan Museum).

• Iglesia de Santo Domingo  
  It's one of the city's convents that today only have the church. We are talking about a 16^th Century Baroque church with a Mudéjar touch. It contains several images by Luján Pérez, which is considered to be the best sculptor of the Canary Islands.

• Iglesia de San Francisco de Asís (Church of St. Francis of Assisi)
  It was part of a Franciscan convent that was turned into an army quarter after one of the ecclesiastical confiscations. Of this time, only the bell tower reminds. It hosts several important pieces by Luján Pérez.

  It's a cultural institution founded with the aim of creating and spreading all kinds of artistic manifestations.
