It has been my pleasure to have had the opportunity to visit the city of Soria for quite a few years! Sufficiently to now find myself immersed in the traditions and culture of centuries gone by. This year, I will serve as the president of one of the civic organizations that sponsor the Summer festivals of San Juan. This particular celebration has been repeated for hundreds, maybe thousands of years and is truly the highlight of the Summer. It is a pagan festival in that it began prior to the development of modern religious organizations and is focused around the sun, wine, and bulls. In preparation for this event, I will be in Soria from the first week in May until the last week in July. The existence of the internet allows me to oversee the work of an excellent crew of assistants that have the majority of the details for our committment already in place and ready to roll! The majority of the town ceases to function during the festivals as most everyone finds themselves in the streets enjoying themselves and making this holiday one of the best celebrations in the World.
