Opened in 1948, Hotel Azzi has historical roots, owning the third oldest
license in Florence. Housed in the old building once the home of the
Barbera typography it was originally part of a monastery which since the
14th century hosted travelers and pilgrims: its combination of culture
and hospitality has made it a favorite place of artists, writers,
painters and theatre people. Today Hotel Azzi is still a meeting pot, a
place for exchange information about what's going on in town. It's a
real "pensione", unique on-conventional look and really friendly
The hotel is situated 100 m from Florence's Santa Maria Novella train
station and close to the Duomo (cathedral) and central market. The
historical centre of Florence is within walking distance of the hotel.
Peretola Airport is approximately 4 km away and Galileo Galilei Airport
is roughly 100 km away.
When travelling to the hotel by car, guests can take the Florence Nord
exit from the highway, and follow the road in the direction of Fortezza
da Basso and S. Maria Novella train station.
