Description of the Hotel De Vere University Arms:

The bedrooms are luxuriously appointed and equipped with colour television, radio, hairdryer, trouser press and hospitality tray. Each room is tastefully decorated and most have views over 'Parker's Piece'. This is an oak paneled room with unique stained glass windows. It is in the style of an Elizabethan banquet room with high ceilings and paneled walls. The hotel was built in 1834 and is very traditional in design. It overlooks the famous 'Parker's Piece' playing field where cricket is played throughout the summer months. The lobby is very traditional in design. It is quite narrow but very long. The decor is very regal with luxurious furnishings and huge chandeliers. The public areas reflect this style of decor with the high ceilings and oil paintings on the walls. There are 3 bars with one to suit every client.
