Description of the Hotel Husa Palacio de Mengíbar:

Renovated in 2008, this themed city hotel is housed in a 15th century building which has been declared a place of cultural interest by the Andalusian authorities. The building reflects the historical link between the Roman and Muslim cultures, and the hotel is the most prestigious in the region thanks to its monumental significance (it was also General Reding's headquarters at the beginning of and during the Battle of Bailén), but also due to its services. Facilities and services on offer to guests include the General Reding Restaurant, situated in the old stables; a bar, a café, a garden and meeting rooms. Furthermore, this air-conditioned establishment offers a lobby area with a 24-hour reception, a hotel safe, a currency exchange facility, a cloakroom and lift access. This historical spa hotel also offers a games room, WLAN/Internet access (charges apply), room service and a laundry service (for an additional fee), as well as the latest in home automation devices. Guests may choose from a total of 56 rooms, 30 of which lie in the old Casa Palacio building and 26 in the extension. Parking is available for those arriving by car (charges apply).

All rooms come with a safe, a private bathroom with a shower/bathtub, a make-up mirror and a hairdryer, individually adjustable air conditioning and heating. They are also equipped with free wifi Internet access, a minibar, a radio and satellite TV with 20 channels. The rooms in the Casa Palacio are decorated each in their individual, personal style. Each one is identified with an historical personage who is part of the history of the palace or was a member of one of the families who owned the palace during these centuries. The ground floor rooms in the old building feature canopied beds and period furniture. The rooms in the extension offer heated floors and fog-free mirrors in the bathroom.

The hotel features Roman baths, a spa, a hydromassage pool, a spa pool, an aromatherapy steam bath, a sauna and treatment cabins based on olive oil treatments (spa treatments may incur an additional fee). Guests can also relax in the indoor pool.
