Originally built in 1928 this building was purchased in 1997 and 3 years were spent renovating it, into a 1000 room high-end boutique property. This elegent but not pretentious hotel is a true one of a kind, even for New York. From the stunning private park within the walls of the hotel to the unique restaurant and bar all of the public areas of the hotel create a stunning yet serene atmosphere. The rooms are a one off as well, with dark wood walls and floors, white linen curtains and furniture designed specifically for the hotel.

The rooms have a unique sense of style based on luxury yacht state rooms from the early part of the 20th century. Many interesting one-of-a-kind pieces were created for the opening of this hotel. Upscale bath amenities and linens, fresh flowers and flat screen TVs help to create an oasis from the maelstrom of the city.
