Gran Hotel Sol y Mar - Adults Experience has an ideal setting next to Arenal Beach, on Calpe’s seafront. Rooms include free Wi-Fi, a flat-screen TV and a free welcome pack in the minibar. This design hotel has a beach club and infinity pool, with wonderful views of the Mediterranean Sea and the Peñon de Ifach Rock. The Gran Hotel Sol y Mar is in the centre of Calpe, on the Costa Blanca. The town has a modern marina and an old fishing port. It is less than 20 km from Benidorm. The hotel's Food Gallery Restaurant serves fresh Mediterranean meals, while Abiss Restaurant Gastro Barra offers gourmet à la carte food. The Gran Hotel Sol y Mar also has an elegant lobby bar and the Dorée Gin & Sea bar serving cocktail and drinks. Access to the hotel’s spa comes at an extra cost. There is also a gym, with personal trainers and fitness classes. The reform works are from Monday to Friday, they start at 08:00 and finish at 18:00. They affect 2 floors of rooms during each period. Between 11/01/2022 and 03/15/2023 all rooms will be renovated.

We arrived and pre booked our double bed...But got to room and we had twin beds!!? complained - the a maid came and changed the bed (zipped them together?) while we hung around for 45 minutes... I went to reception to see what can be done as we were dissapointed at having to wait around...when their were another few hundred rooms available!! or they could have upgraded us to make us happy, but no..."If you want another room you have to pay" was the response...basically they didnt care that they had made an error in the booking...
Room was ok...television was a disgrace for a 4* poor reception and no language choice.. In the bathroom the flush mechanism was falling off the wall... Basic basic basic...
Essentially this is a 2* hotel trying to be a 4* (but not trying hard enough) AVOID!!!!
Their are better hotels with better prices in the area...

Just for the view the solymar gets already its 5 stars. Let's be honest, location is perfect, buffet is delightful and coffees do the job! Staff is multi language, makes you feel at home ! Kudos !

On the whole, an excellent hotel. All the staff were extremely helpful, friendly and polite. We had a room on the inside with no view and needed lights on at all times otherwise it would have been gloomy. It was part of a package with Jet 2. Next year Jet

This hotel is amazing and there is many entry points. It is a very big hotel with one outdoor swimming pool and an indoor spa which you have to pay extra to enter which is ridiculous. Overall there are so many restaurants on the strip and a nice fun beach
