4My opinion about this hotel Hipotels La Geriamrs. - Apr 16, 2012
This is a beautiful hotel which at the moment is going through some refurbishment which may be a little unfortunate if you are staying there during it but the hotel is trying its best to minimise any disruption to clients.
The food is absolutely excellent i have never seen so much choice and such high quality and we have stayed at alot of 4 star hotels.
The grounds are beautiful and are constantly being cleaned and looked after. There are plenty of sunbeds and brollies plus palm trees to help shade you from the sun. The pool is clean and looks beautiful lit up in the evening.
The animation programme during the day is mostly for adults such as archery, boules, excersise, darts, rifle shooting, shuffle board, table tennis, table football, mini golf, tennis all in a lighthearted way. Rui who is the animation person is great we had such a laugh and good time with him. However, there is a sandpit for the children plus a childrens section of the pool and a cabin is in the process of being built as a play area for children.
There is evening entertainment which was quite varied, we did not stay in every evening but the evenings we did were very good.
There is a gates that leads from the grounds onto the sea front. The beach is large and clean and there is a good view around the bay. The area around the hotel is small with a few supermarkets, holiday gift shops, restaurants and bars. Not many tapas bars but just before we left one opened called El Sol the owner makes you very welcome and gives you free tapas with your drink. We wished it had been open for more of our stay. It is a long walk into puerto del carmen but there is a regular bus service. We were glad we were staying in the quieter area we were in as Puerto Del Carmen is very commercialised and the bars and restaurants are all touting to get you in.
We would definately recommend this hotel and it is well worth its 4 stars.
