Castellón’s old town centre is a real treat to explore, with a number of fine museums and historical landmarks to discover. A pretty plaza with old town walls can be found in Muralla Liberal, while the city's Gothic-style 13th-century cathedral, Concatedral de Santa Maria, is spectacular to visit. Museu d'etnologia de Castelló offers a range of regional artefacts and costumes. There are also many art galleries to visit in the area, including Fundación Caja Castellón - Sala San Miguel, Eacc Espai D'Art Contemporani de Castelló and Museo de Bellas Artes de Castellón. Some 4km east of town, you’ll find El Grao de Castellón, a beach and port area with excellent seafront restaurants, activities and excursions.
