It must be said that Vilamoura is not the most connected or well served area for public transport. There is no dedicated bus station. Vilamoura is served by one local bus route that runs between Faro and Albufeira. You can look out for a local minibus route during weekdays and weekends, but otherwise, on foot and taxi journeys are your best bet for getting around. It is very easy to travel the whole of the coast of The Algarve with a rental car and Vilamoura is a great base for doing so.
