Certainly built in part before 1700 and for very many years was a fine town house with a remarkable hall and staircase, actually this hotel is a number of old houses now joined together. Recently enhanced by major refurbishment and extension work it has one of the grandest Georgian entrance halls in East Yorkshire, and now boasts one of the finest restaurants in the region - The Bechstein. The ambience of this softly lit air-conditioned setting is super. At the rear of the hotel there is a secluded patio area which provides an ideal suntrap - weather permitting.
