Azucar, Monte Gordo, A Member Of Design Hotels

This charming boutique hotel is next to the beach, just outside Playa Oriente on Mexico’s Emerald Coast. It offers an outdoor pool and stylish rooms with a private terrace with a hammock. The air-conditioned rooms at Hotel Azúcar feature smooth curves and minimalist décor. Each one comes with a flat-screen TV, DVD player. The Azúcar’s restaurant serves traditional food from Veracruz with show cooking. It has a hand-made palm shelter and great sea views. The hotel has an attractive library with a palm shelter. Activities arranged by the hotel include walking tours, kayaking and cycling. Veracruz and its airport are around 2 hours’ drive from the Azúcar. The Ciénaga State Park is just behind the hotel.
