• Alcazaba Árabe
  Built in 875 by Abd Al Ramman Ibn Marwan (El Yilliqui). Has three main gates; Puerta del Capitel, Puerta del Alpéndiz and Puerta de Carros. It was declared a Historic Artistic Monument since 1931.

• Palacio de los Duques de Feria (Duques de Feria Palace)
  Dates back to the 16^th century. Made of brick masonry and stone masonry.
  Today, it houses the Provincial Archaeological Museum.

• Puente de Palmas
  Built in 1460, and destroyed in1545 by strong flood of Guadiana river. The current bridge completed in1596. It is made of stone and masonry

• Puerta de Palmas (Palmas Gate)
  Dates back to 1460. It consists of two cylindrical towers which were made of masonry.

• Torre de Espantaperros (Espantaperros Tower)
  it’s the popular name of the Tower Alpéndiz or Atalaya.
  The most prominent watchtower of the fortress and one of the most representative monuments of the city.  It’s octagonal and with more than 30 meters high.

* RELIGIOUS TEMPLES:

• Catedral de San Juan Bautista (Cathedral of San Juan Bautista)
  Construction began in 1232. With the fusion of Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque, the tower stands out with delicate plateresque contrasts. The extraordinary lamp hanging from the cruiser weighs 3.750 kilos and was declared a Historic Artistic Monument in 1931.

• Convento de San José (Convent of San José)
  Also known as las Adoratrices. During the Revolutionary War the chapel was bombed.
