• Cristo del Otero (The Christ of the Otero)
  A 30 meter-high sculpture of Christ by Victorio Macho. It was created in 1931, and you will enjoy the best views of the city from its base

• El Puente Mayor (The Main Bridge)
  This stone-bridge dates back to the 16^th century.

* RELIGIOUS TEMPLES:

• La Catedral de San Antolín de Palencia (St. Antolin's Cathedral of Palencia)
  It's a big and balanced medieval style building. The construction of the present Gothic temple began in 1321, but works continued until the 16^th century. Therefore, this Cathedral has elements from different eras and styles. It has five doors, the most decorated of which is la Puerta de la Virgen(The Virgin's Door) or del Obispo (The Bishop's Door).
  It was declared Historical-Artistic Monument of Spain in 1929.

• Iglesia de San Miguel (St. Michael's Church)
  It has three naves and a Gothic style main facade.

• Iglesia de San Juan Bautista (St. John The Baptist's Church)
  It's a small Romanesque chapel, located in a park known as Huerta de Guadián.

• Iglesia de San Lázaro (St. Lazarus' Church)
  A Gothic church displaying an altarpiece with works from the Schools of Balmaceda and Berruguete.

• Iglesia de San Bernardo (St. Bernard's Church)
  The name of the church comes from a community of Bernadine nuns that occupied the convent. In the middle of the church you can see a statue of St. Bernard.

• Iglesia de la Soledad (Church of the Solitude)
  Adjacent to the convent of San Francisco, it dates back to the 18^th century and has a neoclassical altarpiece.

• Nuestra Señora de la Calle (Our Lady of the Street)
  Also known as Church of the Society of Jesus. Its main altarpiece was made by Pedro Bahamonde in the mid 18^th century.

• Monasterio de Santa Clara (Monastery of St. Clare)
  This Gothic monastery houses several altarpieces made between the 16^th-18^th century. The highlight inside is the image of the Cristo Yaciente de la buena Muerte (Laying Christ of the Good Death).

• Convento de San Pablo (St. Paul's Convent)
  The original building dates back to the 13^th century, but the façade was remodeled in the 18^th century.
  The highlights inside are  the main altarpiece and the tomb of the first Marquis of Poza, Don Juan de Rojas and Doña María Sarmiento.

• Convento de San Francisco (St. Francis' Convent)
  It was built by the Franciscans in the14^th century and houses a Baroque main altarpiece.

• Museo Diocesano (Diocesan Museum)
  Located in the Episcopal Palace, dated from the 18^th century, it exhibits an interesting collection of religious art and objects.
  The 10 exhibition rooms display art from the Middle Ages to the Renaissance.
  It's worth seeing the paintings of Juan de Flandes, Zurbarán and Berruguete, the carvings of Alejo de Vahía and the Romanesque sculptures of the 12^th and 13^th centuries.

• Museo Catedralicio (Cathedral Museum)
  Located in the cloister and other rooms of the Cathedral of Palencia, this museum displays the painting of El Greco that reflects the martyrdom of Saint Sebastian and four Flemish tapestries of 16^th century.

• Museo Arqueológico de Palencia (Archaeological Museum of Palencia)
  Located in la Casa del Cordón, a Renaissance building, it houses a collection of archaeological pieces from the Prehistory to the Middle Ages.

• Museo Jerónimo Arroyo (Jerónimo Arroyo Museum)
  It is located in the Institute of Jorge Manrique, a building that was created by the architect Jerónimo Arroyo.
  The museum displays the most important projects of the architect Jerónimo Arroyo during the first decades of the 20^th century.

• Museo Victorio Macho (Victorio Macho's Museum)
  Exposes the skecthes of some of its monuments, like, el Cristo del Otero.

• Fundación Díaz Caneja (Díaz Caneja Foundation)
  It is the only center dedicated to contemporary art in Palencia. It exhibits the works of the Palentian painter Juan Manuel Díaz-Caneja.

• Plaza Mayor
  It was built in the 17^th century surrounding the Casa Consistorial, a neoclassical building from the late 19^th century.
  In the center of the square stands the monument of Victorio Macho, tribute to Alonso Berruguete.
