The location of the Kolbe hotel was better than expected, right near the Colosseum on the other side of the Roman forum, absolutely fantastic.
The staff were friendly and helpful when required. The facilities were standard much like a travel lodge and unlike a travel lodge the standard double room was very small.
The stay was and hotel felt right for the amount we paid however one stain on the holiday was the leftover mouldy pasta we found in an open takeaway pot in our minibar fridge and the only reason we found this was to store some leftover food we couldn’t finish the night before. The hotel were reluctant to offer any sort of compensation for this as we had to say to them twice this was pretty unacceptable, they were happy to just let it go. In the end they offered us just a free drink each and being that the rest of the holiday was fantastic we settled as we didn’t want to hold onto it any more.

We got a half price offer on the room which was fantastic. Not sure we would have looked at this hotel otherwise. Now having stayed there I would pay the full asking price should I ever stay here again. The staff were fantastic, even going out of their to help me find an adaptor after mine broke. Genuinely could not recommend this hotel highly enough.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Kolbe. It was a very spacious hotel which was well maintained and to a high standard. Possible issues for others may be that it is a bit of a walk to the main centre. When we went it was very hot so we booked taxis. There are no drinks facilities in the rooms which was a shame just remember to buy your bottled water.The room was very clean, comfortable and spacious. The bathroom was lovely with a Jacuzzi bath and plenty of toiletries. All staff were very friendly. Breakfast was lovely with plenty of choice. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone.
