Reviews of the Plaza Regency Hotels hotel

I got a room on the 2nd floor, small room with nice bathroom but I could cope with it. The problem was with balcony, was too small, 2 chairs there but you could not seat there, no room for my legs, nice view from balcony. I had to ask for extra soup and shampoo as cleaner did not leave every day and she should. Sometimes she brough me new clean towels but left dirty once on the floor in my bathroom. Very bad. For breakfast everyday the same, sausages, eggs, lettuce, bacon, nothing else, the same cake every single day as well. I have heard many complaints from guests about it to staff and there was no improvement. Dinner was good but you have to pay seperately for water, wine, beer and more. No drinks included in option HB - half board. They dont have all inclusive. Treatment in reception very good. In general I could give 6 points of 10.

I used to go in this hotel because it is next to the sea. This time I asked for a sea-front room, but I need to change it because it was too noisy during the night. The windows and the doors are not sound-proof. I asked for a double bedroom but they gave me a bedroom with two single beds, one of the two was obviously useless. All the bottom bed-linens of the beds are without elastic, they are not fitting the bed, so they are incredibly troublesome and inconvenient. I spent a lot of time to fit it as you make even a little move in the bed. Moreover the upper bed-line was short. I don't understand why this hotel use this poor bed-sheets... Moreover the towels are very little and they remain wet, so it is necessary to change them everyday. Two days the bed wasn't done, the maid left it like I left. The second room was big, with balcony, with a little kitchen and less noisy, even if it was next to the lift and its sound is clearly heard. The breakfast has a lot of food, but always the same and poor of vegetables. The wi-fi is free only in the entrance where sometimes is full of confusion. It is not acceptable to pay for the wi-fi in the bedrooms: all the other hotels I visit, they don't ask for the payment for the wi-fi connection anymore. Generally is a good combination hotel for price and quality but they could increase the quality for little efforts.

ecellent good value for money, newly refurnished only downside: internet is not free: 2.5euros for 1h, 4.5 for 2h or 20 euros for 10h.

This hotel gives me exactly what I want - the basic room rate is cheap, then you pay extra for any frills. Why go to a hotel where you pay for things that you might never use, like spa, gym, private beach? I have stayed in the Plaza several times and have always had a clean and confortable room and plenty of space to store my things. The location is also great for me. It is about half way between the shops of Sliema and the bars of Paceville. There are bus stops right outside that make it easy to get to Valletta and the airport. The biggest negative point I can find is that the plates at breakfast are never hot enough - your hot food will go cold far too quickly. One other negative point is that rooms on the 5th floor are directly under the restaurant, so you will hear a lot of noise from people walking and dragging chairs and tables at meal times.
