Located in Altafulla, a town in the north of Costa Daurada (Golden Coast) and at a 45-minute ride to Barcelona from the south, the Altafulla Mar Hotel is a 4-star holiday resort opening in May 2015. It is just at a 2-minute walk away from the beach in a quiet town that boasts a historical centre, which has been declared as an Asset of National Interest with an architectural ensemble that was built between the 17th and the 18th century. The city of Tarragona, which was declared a UNESCO World Heritage site in 2000, is just 10km away from the hotel. There is only a 5-minute walk to a railway connection that can take you anywhere around the area, and the hotel is just 20km away from Reus airport and 65km away from Barcelona airport.
The hotel is arranged on 4 floors with 136 guestrooms in four different types: Standard (32m2), Superior overlooking the pool (32m2), Premium (59m2), Suite (57m2) and Deluxe (57m2). Room facilities include a shower, a flat-screen TV with international channels, a free minibar (welcome water), a hairdryer, a desk, a telephone, a safe box that fits a laptop (free) air-conditioned and heating. All the rooms have got a terrace, which is 10m2 for Extra Superior (Premium) type, and 24m2 for Junior Suite type overlooking the Mediterranean Sea.
The hotel cuisine will be based on quality Mediterranean food with fresh market products. You can choose between half-board and full-board accommodation. The restaurant area includes a large themed buffet restaurant with indoor and outdoor spaces, which is where both breakfast and dinner are served; an outdoor summer grill restaurant in the swimming-pool area serving lunch, a japanese food restaurant and a lounge bar for both day snacks and dinner-time creative dishes you can share. Moreover, there are terraces and gardens for you to enjoy a cool summer evening cocktail while listening to some background live music. The hotel has also got a wide range of set menus for private events and celebrations.
