Resort Wyndham Alltra Playa Del Carmen Adults Only All Inclusive

My feeling is that this hotel makes me scared, scared and helpless. I originally wanted to go with my wife to celebrate her birthday, but I didn’t expect that I would be attacked by hotel guests in the hotel. The hotel staff did not help me. I tried I asked the hotel staff to call an ambulance for me, but they refused to carry me directly to my room, which caused irreparable damage to my body and mind. In the last two days, I kept hiding in the room and did not dare to go out. I just felt that people in the hotel would attack me. This made me feel very decadent and sad.

If you are looking for a romantic short break from 2 to 4 days pay you a favour dont go there. The hotel is full of people.
In addition especially at the check in the hotel try to sell you several upgrades in which you are not sincerely interested, this way of doing in my opinion is just annoying.
During my stay from the 9 to the 14th of November 2012, the hotel was particularly noisy as they were undergoing a renewal of the lobby and of the lobby bar.
At the check in I have asked for a room with a double bed, they answered that their standard room was with two beds and that if I wanted 1 larger bed instead of two beds I had to buy an upgrade. of 40 USD / day. I sincerely do not understand the logic as for the house keeping as well as for the hotel it has to be easy to take care of one bed instead of two and of course I rejected the offer which for the hotel management didn\'t matter. As we were waiting for the check in a third person come in contact with us again posing questions which were not relevant to our well being, instead she tried to assess and estimate our spending budget for future purchases in the hotel shops.
I arrived to the hotel by car and the hotel advertise in internet their free parking facilities, however when I arrived the guy at the door of the hotel communicated to me that there was no parking place in the hotel I parked then the car in an approximate way risking to get a tiket and I went to the check in, at this stage the personnal working at the check in communicated to me that there is as a matter of fact a parking which they share with the partner hotel Royal and at this stage he tried to sell me an hupgrade in the Hotel Royal I was of course not interested as I booked in Gran Porto Royal.
I left my fiance continuing the check in and I parked the rented car in the Hotel Royal, just in time to avoid a ticket from the local police.
Before we were assigned the room we went to the sushi bar of the hotel where we discovered that thun sushi was not in the menu card.
The air conditioning of the room was not working when we arrived after I left several written message in the room it was however repaired.
The beach of the Hotel is very short, the maximum length may be 20 meters no more, the beach is partially protected with plastic bags. To be fair this is not only the problem of this hotel, but of several hotels in playa del carmen.
The archtecture of the hotel as well is not attractive, the hotel has a rectangulat form withe the shorter lenght looking at the sea and the longer lenghts looking on the street.
That means if you book what they call a standard room, you will have windows on the street.
In conclusion we think that this hotels may fit the needs of american students during the spring break hanging on at the beach bar or of large families with limited budget, however it is far away to consttute a 5 stars experience.
A couple of words about the restaurants, the pseudo italian restaurant was the only acceptable and if you like to have bottle of wine with your meal, surprise surprise you need to pay 35 USD. The table wine offered by the different restaurants was not acceptable.

Well as you may understand I dont think I will go back anymore in such an hotel, may be I will not get back anymore in playa del carmen as well, because the beach is eroded and not attractive.
Cancun may instead be a good alternative.
My recommendation to Destinia is please try to get more fotos of the hotels.
