The craze for food trucks is a global phenomenon and more and more vintage vehicles are being restored and launched to offer tapas, sandwiches and other proposals of the best street food. But in Barcelona, and in other cities in Spain, their circulation to offer fast food on the street is prohibited and their activity is restricted to gastronomic or music festivals and major festivals. Even so, Barcelona is full of great urban and fast food proposals to seduce your palate. We have selected some establishments that you can enjoy at any time of the year.
Bismillah
The best kebab in Barcelona can be found at Bismillah, in Joaquín Costa, in the heart of Raval. It is a spacious place where all the ingredients are fresh and where they make homemade bread, stuffed with cheese or simple, in their tandoori oven. Another of its star dishes is chicken curry rice. You will pay an average of 6 € to 8 € with drink included (no alcohol is sold) and enjoy high quality Pakistani street food.

Bagoa
Walking along Letamendi Square you can see a sign that says “Bágoa” and that, at first glance, is a bar like any other, beer and tapas. But no, because Bágoa has one of the best sandwiches in Barcelona: the canary ham sandwich. It is a whole leg of pork that is baked in the oven over very low heat, with pepper and lemon. It can be ordered by portion or in whole or half sandwiches, all with bread and tomato. Average price: 12 € per person with drink.

Mon Viet Barcelona
One of the great temples of Vietnamese cuisine in the city, where, of course, the ramen or pho soup with the family recipe of the owners is the star dish and you can ask for the vegan option. Delivery service is available in case you prefer to eat at your accommodation or order with friends. Other exquisite dishes of this restaurant are the fresh prawn rolls with peanut sauce and the seafood curry.

The Egg Lab Street
The famous egg sandwich popularized by American cuisine, and also eaten in Canada, finds its best version in Barcelona at The Egg Lab Street. Located in the Sant Gervasi neighborhood, you can eat in its establishment (especially in its outdoor bar), although its profile is more oriented to street food and take away. It offers up to eight varieties of egg sandwiches, with fried, scrambled or grilled eggs on soft brioche bread. Other menu options include chicken and avocado sandwich and green curry roasted chicken sandwich, soft scrambled eggs and cheddar cheese.

The Muns
In Barcelona there is a boom of Argentine empanadas, a typical street food from the South American country that consists of a dough filled with minced beef and onion, seasoned with chili or chili, in its traditional version, but that can have multiple varieties. The best empanadas in Barcelona are at Las Muns de Poblenou, with an average price of 2 € per unit and with the recipe from the area of Tucumán, a province in northern Argentina that, along with Salta, boasts the best versions of this food. At Las Muns you can find knife-cut meat empanadas, Thai chicken, ham and cheese empanadas with tomato and basil and many more varieties.

Lucky Road
One of the best Asian street food options in Barcelona, with a menu in which each dish represents classic recipes from a country of that continent. For example, Korea’s bibimbap (rice, soy, cucumber, carrot and gochujang sauce), Thailand’s pad thai (in three versions, shrimp, tofu and chicken) or China’s famous Peking duck. You can eat in the restaurant located in the Gothic Quarter or order take-out and enjoy street food overlooking the sea in the port of Barcelona, very close to Lucky Road.

Goosebumps
Gourmet fried chicken is the main protagonist of this restaurant that recovers, around the same raw material, recipes from different countries: United States, Thailand, Morocco and Mexico. Located in Poble Sec, they bring the chicken from the fields of l’Empordà, always fresh and local. It has grilled, cachopo or Milanese versions and can be served with different sauces. You can order online or pick up in the store to eat on the street. The average price for each dish is around 10 €.

Piel de Gallina Restaurant
The Fish & Chips Shop
The quintessential English street food is fish and chips, fish and chips that were originally served in rolled up newspaper and eaten with the hands. Over the years, the dish has become more sophisticated, but it has never ceased to exist as an economical and exquisite option. This place mixes Asian and English culture in different crispy varieties of fish and chips within a gourmet street food concept. It can be ordered online so that it can be delivered to your accommodation or you can visit any of the five stores that the company has in Barcelona. The average price per dish is between 8 € and 15 €.

El Pachuco
We cannot talk about street food and leave out the exquisite Mexican cuisine, so abundant and varied in the city of Barcelona. One of the best options in this sense is El Pachuco, a taqueria located in the Raval neighborhood, in a small place with exquisite proposals: sopes (corn tortilla with beans, cheese and meat), quesadillas and nachos that are among the best in the city. Bring cash because it is not possible to pay by credit card.

El Arepazo
Colombia and Venezuela have an eternal duel over which of the two countries is the inventor of the authentic arepa, that soft, thick corn tortilla that is eaten for breakfast, lunch or dinner and mixed with many ingredients. Be that as it may, both traditions find delicious versions that are unified in El Arepazo, where multiple versions of arepas are cooked with meat, cheese, egg or pork rinds, in addition to an exquisite coffee. You can eat there at the Carrer de Cartagena location or order directly from their website. The average price of an arepa is 8 €.
