What is the guarantee or safety deposit?

You will be required to leave a security deposit when picking up the vehicle to cover possible damage or theft during the rental period. The deposit amount will be blocked on the primary driver's credit card until the rental period is over. If the vehicle is returned without damages, this amount will be unblocked/refunded usually within a maximum period of 7 business days. If the driver's credit card does not have sufficient funds to cover for the deposit amount due, the rental company reserves the right to retain the vehicle. In this case, the staff in the office may offer the driver a contract for additional coverage as a possible option in order to receive the vehicle. This is a common practice among all rental companies.
